Let’s face it! I’m a girly girl to. the. core. Every fall when football season rolls around I tell myself THIS will be the year that I pay attention to the game and not the outfits, the crowd, the food, the commercials… you get where I’m going with this?! Here I am at 29 and still no nothing more about the sport other than to pick a team (preferably the ones your friends are cheering for) and yell and repeat after them. I can’t help that my soul cares more about the atmosphere than what’s happening on the field. I want to know what people are doing and eating. I’m a sucker for game food because I have so many memories tied to sporting events. It’s almost un-American to go to a baseball game and not order a hot dog or peanuts. I’m sure the person who wrote the lyric, “Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks” understands how important food is when it comes to sports. When it comes to Super Bowl food, I enjoy anything nacho, pizza, chicken, cheesy, non-salad ish… you get my drift. I mean, who wants to eat a salad when you are watching a football game anyway?! You might spill your dressing when your favorite team scores!! *the horror* Sporting events are salad-free events in my book. You need foods that are low maintenance and easy to handle. Enter Buffalo Chicken Cups.
Buffalo chicken is delicious in almost every form imaginable… on sandwiches, salads, wraps. I especially like it paired with its BFF, blue cheese. When the two of them get together it is a match made in foodie Heaven. So let me tell you how I came up with the cup for the buffalo chicken. One time I tried a pizza roll in crescent cup at a tailgate. They were almost too cute to eat, and the lady who made them said they were so easy. Since I prefer traditional pizza, but liked the cup idea, I decided to see what would happen if I put buffalo chicken and blue cheese in the cups instead: God moved the Heavens and the Earth!
Each little bite is like gold. I know some of you may not like blue cheese; I will forgive you. You could drizzle with Ranch dressing for a similar flavor. The buttery goodness of the crescent with the cuteness of the little cups and the Buffalo chicken… I could go on! What is not to love? These Buffalo Chicken cups are both party and kid friendly alike because they are quick to make and not fussy appetizers. Psst…don’t tell the veggie police, but I’ve made a meal or two off of these little cups. They are just so hard to resist! Just follow the video for the simple instructions on making the cup and add the buffalo chicken goodness and garnish with blue cheese. What are your favorite sporting event foods?
